Porsche D asked: I am planning on attending college and getting a bachelor in accounting, but I am deciding whether I would have a promising future in majoring in Accounting and becoming a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or not. Some people I have asked say that everyone will always need accountants but I want others opinions as well. Is it a good Idea to major in Accounting? If not what major or career (with an Accounting major) would be good?

cheyla_ahi asked: I’m going for my masters in public administration and there is a specialization in becoming an inspector general, which I’m really interested in. Yet I’m concerned about the accounting portion of the role. As a undergrad I only got a C in accounting. I mean if I work hard which I plan to I could do better but is the job mostly involved with accounting?

prospective accountant asked: I am planning to study masters in accounting from australia. I do not have any ******** accounting background however have studied basic accounting in school and college. In addition i have over 5 years of work experience however all of it has been with the customer services industry. I am a bit sceptical about finding a job and what kind of jobs will I be able to get upon completion of this course. As this course is on the shortage occupations list in australia, my goal is to stay back in australia and work in the finance sector. What kind of jobs will I be able to get after this course and after a few years can I move towards investment banking ? Also, what other credits or subjects do I need to study to become a chartered accountant? Thanks …..

Kenny asked: I know that Florida Atlantic offers a masters degree in Forensic Accounting, but I would like to know, what other schools offer this or a similar masters program? A list would be great, because so far all I’ve found are regular Accounting masters programs, with no specific concentration. Thanks!

but what does it really do?
Is accounting only to help out the owner? or is there legal stuff included?
Also, what’s the difference between what the cash register monitors and what i use the accounting program for?

djofir4u asked: I am a thrid year college student majoring in Accounting. I need a job right now and am looking to start working in my field. The opportunity for growth in the job/company is more important to me than the money I will be earning. Can anyone who has been in my shoes help me?? I am really lost when it comes to this aspect.

Jeffery W asked: I am currently a college student and i am a few hours away from having an associates degree in accounting. I plan on staying another two years in order to obtain my bachelors degree. So my question is, directly out of college with a bachelors degree in accounting, what type of jobs would i qualify for, outside of just being an accountant.
