How good do you have to be at accounting to be an inspector general?

I’m going for my masters in public administration and there is a specialization in becoming an inspector general, which I’m really interested in. Yet I’m concerned about the accounting portion of the role. As a undergrad I only got a C in accounting. I mean if I work hard which I plan to I could do better but is the job mostly involved with accounting?

   Yes I believe there is Accounting involved in this. Inspector General normally are CFE Certified Fraud Examiners and that requires some accounting knowledge. So in short, yes you will need to know some accounting to do this.
