Taxes!!!!!?
if i made over ,000 this summer and my parents still get to claim me appoximatly how much do u think i would get back in taxes….i’ve never filed them before so i don’t know if i’ll even make enough to make it worth while…:(
i am 18 but i’ve never had to file taxes before i’m not sure what the taxes taken out of my checks added up to usually with everythign considerd it was about 0 so i’m assuming at least 0 if not more i know it’s not very musch but the town i live in is seriously open for like 3 months out of the year!!!

Since you made under $3000 and your parents still claim you, you are exempt from paying taxes, so if you paid any then you will get back what you paid. Keep in mind that you don’t get social security, and medicare back.
How much did you pay in? That would determine how much you would get back.
It needs on how much you paid in. You do not get social security or FICA back – no one does. They will send back any Federal or state taxes deducted though by simply filing. Federal can be filed over the telephone – pick up the form (can be downloaded too), fill it out & then phone the 800 number. It is easy – good luck.

You can file your self and get all you pain in back and there is a space on there that ask if you can be claimed by anyone else and you would check yes, and your parents can still claim you this can be done until you are 21 or still in school.
Eeek… Here is the thing with taxes. So many people never claim their own money!!! Say you got a part time job and (for EXAMPLE) you only worked a week and made $200 and paid $30 in taxes. The law says you don’t need to file taxes because you didn’t make enought o file… BUT, the money they took out of your check for taxes isn’t really owed to the government. So you should file anyway and they will refund your $30. When money is taken out of your check for taxes it’s basically like a "pre-payment" on the taxes they assume you will pay at the end of the year. If you didn’t make enough to pay any taxes then you are owed the money you paid in! (Not including things like Social Security and Medicare!) You might want to read the article at the link below!
