My husband and I will be receiving money back this year and I was planning picking up the tax forms from the library. We do not own our own home or have any kids, what forms do I need to pick up? Thanks in advance for any helpful advice!

Just get a 1040. You’ll probably be taking standard deduction and you won’t have to file other schedules unless you have significant interest, dividends, own a business, own rental property, etc.

You will need at least a form 1040 and the instruction book for it. You probably want to grab a schedule A in case you have enough deductions to itemize. Don’t forget whatever forms your state uses also.

  3. Watch IT! says:

You should download 1040 – EZ from the irs

  4. SmartA$$ says:

You can probably file with the 1040-EZ form. If not, then use the 1040-A.

1040 ez form or do them online at Tax Act it’s free

  6. Judy says:

If all of your income is from some combination of W-2′s, interest and unemployment comp, and you aren’t eligible for any credits, you can use a form 1040EZ.
