I am a bit confused about what form that you are talking about, but here is the easy way to figure it out. Do the calculation on a separate piece of paper. First write down the number that is on line 5. Just below that number, write the number that is on line 8. Now is the top number larger than the bottom number? If it is not, the answer is zero (because typically the instructions will say if less than zero, enter zero.) For instance if line 5 is $8000 and line 8 is $6000, you would enter $2000. However if it is the reverse, Line 5 is $6000 and Line 8 is $8000, then you have zero.
Maybe you were just working and you were tired. Walk away and let your mind refresh!
If you can’t figure out if the number on line 5 is larger than the number on line 8, and if it is, subtract the number on line 8 from the number on line 5, there’s nothing that anyone here can honestly do to help you.
Look at line 5, is it a bigger number than line 8? If it is than subtract the number on line 8 from the number on line 5. I know i have a brain **** every year when i do taxes and i stare at the paper for like 5 minutes
